The new Xiaomi smartphones and smartwatches support the eSIM technology, but compatibility depends on the model, carrier, and user’s region. Thus, each device’s requirements must be checked individually. 

Xiaomi is expanding its eSIM presence and uses eSIM chips in the new smartphones and watches. Yet, some devices remain incompatible. 

Navigate to settings and find “Mobile Networks”. Activate the function “eSIM settings”. You will be offered to activate the eSIM technology. Tap “Ok”. Navigate to “Manage eSIM” settings in “Mobile Networks” and tap “Add eSIM”. Scan the QR code, sent by your eSIM provider, or enter the details manually. Then, follow the instructions sent by your provider to activate the plan. The process may differ depending on your OS version.

Currently, supported devices are Xiaomi 12T Pro, Xiaomi 13 Pro, Xiaomi 13, Xiaomi 13 Lite, Xiaomi 13T, Xiaomi 13T Pro, Xiaomi 14, Xiaomi 14T, Xiaomi 14T Pro, Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G, and Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G. Among other device types, the Xiaomi Watch 2 Pro, Watch S3, Watch S4, and Watch S4 Sports are compatible. 

Smartphones, starting from the 12th generation, support eSIM. This includes 12T Pro, Xiaomi 13 Pro, Xiaomi 13, Xiaomi 13 Lite, Xiaomi 13T, Xiaomi 13T Pro, Xiaomi 14, Xiaomi 14T, and Xiaomi 14T Pro.

After you install the eSIM plan with a QR code, you need to activate the plan. For this, follow instructions from your provider. Commonly, you need to enable roaming and choose the eSIM plan as your cell plan by default. 

Make sure your device is compatible. Purchase the eSIM online and follow the instructions for installation. You’ll need to scan the data plan’s QR code through your Xiaomi settings and activate the eSIM. Then, switch to the eSIM plan as your main cell data plan, and use the purchased Internet in selected destinations. 

After purchasing the data plan, you’ll receive a message with a QR code from your provider. Open the Xiaomi settings, then choose “Mobile Networks”. Click to activate the “eSIM settings”. Then, go to “Manage eSIM” and choose “Add eSIM”. You’ll need to scan the QR code, sent by the provider. Don’t share your code with anyone else. Navigate to settings and choose “SIM Cards & Mobile Networks”. Here, click “Manage eSIM”. Click on the plan you need to delete and choose “Delete mobile Plan”. After the confirmation, your data plan will be removed.
